MATH MONTH CELEBRATION
The yearly celebration MATH MONTH in Col. E. De Leon Elem. School usually takes place during the month of January. It is done virtually due to the pandemic. This year’s theme for Math Month Celebration is “Mathematics unites”. Despite the plague that we are facing right now, the celebration shows the significance of math education in our daily lives.
Numerous activities are held to celebrate Math Month 2021. There are poster making and slogan making contest which are participated by grade 1 to grade 6 pupils with their parents. Quiz Bee in Math is also open to contestants across grade levels. Two teachers from Col. E. De Leon Elementary School namely, Ms. Marissa Cayabyab, Grade 1 teacher and Ms. Irish Jane Rojas, Grade 2 teacher showcase their skills during the Demonstration Teaching in Math which is done via zoom and watched by all CEDLES teachers, principal Dr. Susan J. Corro and PSDS Dr. Ma. Dolora M. Zaragoza.
Dr. Susan J. Corro and Dr. Ma. Dolora M. Zaragoza congratulated the two demonstration teachers for they accepted the challenge and for showcasing their knowledge and skills in Math Teaching.
Announcement of winners and awarding was held last January 28, 2022, which was participated by the contestants, teachers, and school head. Winners received certificate of recognition and the non -winners received certificate of participation.
Winning is not the be-all and end-all of everything but it speaks volumes about a learner’s positive attitude towards learning like discipline, passion in one’s work, taking opportunities when presented and willingness to make mistakes and learn from them. Joining school activities means a child is open to welcome new experiences and recognize avenues where learning takes place. In the long run this will help him succeed in life.
