“A school is a building which has four walls with tomorrow inside”
The new Col. E. De Leon Elementary School (CEDLES) with its 4-story ,32-classroom building was inaugurated on the 2nd day of February 2022. This new school building was accomplished by the people of Paraňaque through the efforts of Congresswoman Joy Myra S. Tambunting in coordination with Honorable Mayor Edwin L. Olivares, Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Education. This inaugural ceremony was a moment of pride and celebration for the whole school community, its DepEd family and City Government of Paraňaque. It was indeed a very special occasion seeing a beautiful edifice rose despite the global pandemic. It is symbolic of hope and new beginnings. It was indeed a remarkable milestone for CEDLES.
This inauguration is mainly about thanking and asking the blessings of the Lord Almighty. Father Melvic Floralde of our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish led the ceremony. The guests, teachers and well-wishers accompanied him throughout the building. Everybody was united in praying that this place of learning will stand strong for many years to come and serve as a beacon of light to the youth and fulfill the real purpose of education.
Furthermore, the Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting was led by Hon. Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez, Hon. Joy Myra S. Tambunting, Hon. Eric Olivarez, Dr. Evangeline P. Ladines, Dr. Maria M. Zaragoza and our school principal, Dr. Susan J. Corro. Several school heads were also present.
This well-designed four-story new building was truly a conducive place for learning. A favorable place to increase students’ attention, concentration, and focus which promotes meaningful learning experiences as well as encourages higher levels of student performance.
Pupils and teachers are surely excited to go back to school just in time for the opening of limited face-to-face classes. Parents are assured that their children will be in a safe, clean, and pleasant surrounding as they return to school.
