"PAGBASA :Pag-asa sa Matatag na Kinabukasan”

                                                       

November is National Reading Month, a celebration that encourages reading for all learners. As we celebrate the value of reading, Col. E. De Leon Elementary School had its Kick-Off parade on November 20,2023 at 7:00 o’clock in the morning. Students from AM Session participated in the parade wearing their favorite story character costumes, followed by the opening program. Susan J. Corro, the school’s principal gave an inspiring message on Reading Month themed “PAGBASA: Pag-asa sa Matatag na Kinabukasan” The excitement and joy on the children’s faces were evident as they took part in the program.

The school’s reading month festivities from November 20-30, 2023, are spearheaded by our reading coordinator, Jescyl A. Oserin, under the guidance of the school principal, and with the collective effort of the teaching staff. The Reading Month activities include Book Week, Word Wall, and the “Paligsahan sa Kasuotang Pampanitikan”. Book Week is scheduled from November 24-30, 2023. It involves reading activities using big books and other reading materials. Moreover, there will be a “Word Wall” inside the classroom featuring five words per day aimed at enhancing learner’s vocabulary.  Teachers in Grade One will focus on teaching CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words.

 

 

The program for “Paligsahan sa Kasuotang Pampanitikan” brought immense joy to the students. It was held on the school grounds on November 24, 2023, at 9:00 in the morning. Dr. Susan J. Corro delivered a heartfelt message and extended recognition to the students who participated in the Story Character Costume competition. The panel of judges, led by the school principal, meticulously selected the deserving winners for the Best Costume Award.”

The National Reading Month Celebration emphasizes the importance of reading and aims to develop the student’s love for reading and make them realize that through reading, you expose yourself to new things, new information, new ways to solve a problem, new ways to achieve one thing and you can get to places you’ve never been to.
