On November 20, 2023 Col. E. De Leon Elementary School celebrated the Filipino Values Month with the theme: “MATATAG na Edukasyon, MATATAG na Karakter Moral: Kaakibat ng Magandang Kinabukasan ng Bawat Pilipino. Held annually in November, it aims to recognize different values that are remarkably and emphatically Filipino. These includes love of God and country, solid family ties, care and regard for older folks, perseverance, and tolerance.
A parade kicked off the program participated by students, parents, and teachers. Creative placards with slogans about the theme were carried by the pupils. After the opening program various fun activities commenced such as film showing, slogan, “tula”, and palarong pinoy contest.
Indeed, it is easy to forget one’s culture as rapid advancement in technology is sweeping globally. This event is a powerful way of kindling embedded Filipino values. CEDLES is in full support of this event. Furthermore, teachers incorporate values formation in their lesson every chance they get.
